More About Weathervanes
Sometimes known as a wind vane, weather vane, or weathercock, a weathervane is a traditional weather forecasting tool that was used to help determine the direction of wind, which also helped predict rainfall. Typically, the weather vane is attached to the highest point of a building to allow for the free flow of wind, though they are also often used these days as a weather vane for the garden.
Although they do and can have a functionality, most of the time now weathervanes are used purely as garden ornaments, adding interest and intrigue into a garden with their designs. Here at Fig and Rose, we stock an extensive collection of weather vanes - from the traditional cockerel weathervane to the more unusual weather vanes UK designs featuring fairies and dragons.
All of the weather vane options we stock here are made in the UK from a solid steel construction and coated in a durable black antique polyester paint, which ensures they are strong enough to put up with the British elements - indeed, the wind should be the only thing affecting these weather vanes.
For weathervanes UK, look no further than our collection, which includes a number of options of weather vane for the garden. The three-part construction of the pieces means they are easily fixed together. Simply slide the NSEW section onto the fitting bracket and then the decorative shape is placed on top. The weather vains can be placed easily on a rooftop, chimney, stables, outhouses - the list is endless.
