Medusa Bird Feeder Protecter

Keep your bird feeders protected from larger birds such as Jackdaws, Rooks, Pigeons, or Magpies, with the Medusa Bird Feeder Defender. Larger bird species have the ability to eat the entirety of a seed feeder in a short time, until there is nothing left for smaller birds that may find it more difficult to get a snack in the months when food is harder to find. 

Using a series of hanging chains that surround your bird feeder, the Medusa feeder defender effectively provides a protective barrier that allows small birds through to enjoy their treats, but not larger birds.

Clever, small birds are able to flit between the hanging chains of the Medusa Bird Feeder Protector, becoming comfortable with the chains and even using them as a perch to get to the seed. However, the larger birds can't fit between the hanging chains, discouraging them as they don't like the feel of chains on feathers.

The bars on the top of the Defender also provide a comfortable staging post for small birds to perch and wait their turn.

The special design of the Medusa feeder protector means it can work together with most types of cylindrical hanging bird feeders - ones with a wide flat surface provide a grab point that is not defended by the Medusa.

Combine the Medusa Feeder Protector with your own bird feeder and hang in an accessible place away from tree branches, bushes or other obstructions. Make sure that the feeder is not hanging lower than the bottom of the dangling chains for maximum efficacy.

The Medusa Bird Feeder Protector will not defend against starlings (which need support) or that sized bird .
